Get ready to ride the wave.

What is a wave you ask? A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time. The software will even correct spelling errors on the fly. IM and E-mail are still alive for now but they will head the way of the fax in the next few years get ready to catch the wave!

The new Render site has launched today after 4 months of development.

As any agency will tell you, one of the hardest things to find time for is internal work and self-promotion. Well after working on-and-off for 4 months, we are finally finished.

The new site has tons of new features, bells and shiny whistles. We are using the latest Expression Engine Content Management System, jQuery, and a host of add-ons.

Tell us what you think!

Introducing Google Editions

The expected launch of “Google Editions” will be in early 2010. Making over a half million e-books available initially for purchase through google or another vendor such as Amazon or B&N. These books will be viewable through any device that has a web browser. The purchased e-book is placed in a “cloud” making it accessible any where in the world. They have gained rights to a large number of books many of which are out of print or ones where no copy write holder can be located. Google ofcourse plans on sharing the profits fairly with publishers and the retailers of the E-books sold. This service is separate from Google Book Search which is of course there plan of scanning all the books known to man (10 million and counting) and making them available on-line. This development will continue to cause confusion in the E-reader market since google is taking a browser centered approach to such devices as they usually do and no firm universal format has been established for the readers yet.

As a web developer I am often asked Google-related questions, that are sometimes difficult to answer. Well, I stumbled upon an excellent resource today, that I thought I would share. Google has a great YouTube Channel for Webmasters.

Google employees provide answers to everything from “Why doesn’t Google validate” to “The popular myths about duplicate content.”

Now I am armed with “actual” answers from the source, and I can now speak the *truth* to my clients.

Thanks Google!

The 2009 Addy Award Show was full of amazing work, from all over Baltimore. This was one of the best shows that we have participated in yet. We are very thankful to have been honored among so many talented designers, and agencies across town. We can’t wait to see what everybody is working on this year!
